Win a Gift Certificate from Ayla Ruse + Win a Kindle

Hello and thank you for having me drop by today. I love anniversaries and I congratulate Sensuous Promotion’s fantastic two year celebration of helping readers discover so many new books. As a special bonus to the wonderful readers out there, I’ll be giving away a gift certificate to one lucky person. Details at the end of this post.

My name is Ayla Ruse and I write erotic romance in many different flavors—contemporary, historical, fantasy and even sci-fi. Why so many? My answer—I go where my muse takes me.

Before I became published, I wrote only contemporary. My intent was to continue to write only in the here-and-now. My first story was a contemporary mĂ©nage. I had thought I was set. But, my muse remained quite. No good contemporary plot tripped through my brain. However, I did have a constantly nagging thought—an idea that teased me as much as it haunted me.

Knowing I could write a story beginning to end at this point, I caved. One rainy weekend, I sat down and typed out the story that had been simmering in my brain, one I’d constantly pushed to the side because…it was a futuristic (gasp). Stunned even with myself that I diverted from my intended course (and at the extremely strong suggestion from a writer friend), I submitted the tale. Not too long after that, it was accepted and from that day on, I allowed my writer’s self to type what it wanted instead of forcing all my ideas into one tidy box. This has allowed me to grow as a writer and to expand my own notions of love everlasting.

For example, one of my recent releases is sci-fi, and I had so much fun creating this story. FEVER HITCH is set during a very popular comic book convention: Earth Con. Here, aliens exist and love a good convention as much as any human. Oftentimes even more so. In typing this up, I also hand wrote pages of the characters I wanted, the creatures and aliens I fashioned, as well as the varying degrees of adjustments both humans and aliens must make to co-exist. I could set my own rules and hey, that rocks! There is humor, lust, danger, sex, comics, suspense and most importantly, love.

None of this would have existed if I had tried to cram my thoughts into an exclusive present-day event. And it is with deepest pleasure that I can share with you now a snippet from FEVER HITCH.

Fever Hitch (Earth Con #1)
By Ayla Ruse
Publisher: Changeling Press
Genre/Theme: Erotic, Sci-Fi/Futuristic, Menage, m/f/m
Length:  30K

Felicia Walker loves her job as an illustrator at Fever Hitch Comics. During this year's annual Earth Con, she will not only draw caricatures, but she'll also be decked out in body paint to represent the F'ldae -- an alien species from the comics. As she starts off a night exploring the off-limits, alien side of the convention, Felicia is unprepared for the spiraling events that will make her behave like a true F'ldae... in full mating heat.

Agent Slate Reese, along with his best friend Agent Ryker Seals, are Metons who want to settle down, but they're having a difficult time finding the female to complete their mating trio. With the vast assortment of alien species converging on this area, surely there's one female who wouldn't mind spending a night with both of them.

Excerpt:

She didn’t seem to notice him other than to grind back against him, wiggling to the beat. Taking this as a good sign, Ry slipped a hand around her waist and spread his palm over her bare stomach. Her skin felt smooth and burning hot, and the way she moved made him want to stroke her even more.
She straightened then, but kept dancing. Pressing her thick mane of hair to his shoulder, she spoke to him over the music.
“Hi, handsome. You smell so good. Are you human?”
He lowered his jaw and brushed his lips across her cheek. “No. Do I have to be?”
She turned then, her arms sliding around his neck. She matched her body to his and asked if he was married.
“What’s that?” he wanted to know.
“You know, with someone? Forever?”
He shrugged. He’d be with Slate forever, but he and Slate didn’t fuck each other. “Not yet.”
“Good. Question number three --”
What was he, on some kind of interview? He thought the F’ldae didn’t care who or what they screwed. Maybe some had preferences after all.
“-- do you have a cock?”
Ry threw back his head and laughed. He’d been asked a lot of things in his lifetime, but questioning his male parts had never been one of them.
“It’s a legitimate question,” she argued. He supposed she did have a point. There were sexual parts of some aliens that even he wouldn’t go near.
“You tell me if this is what you need,” he said, and slipped her hand down his body to his thickening erection. She ran her palm over his slacks and scraped the bulging tip with her nails. He shuddered and pulled her close.
They danced that way, with her fondling him, until he couldn’t take it any longer and grabbed her agile hand in his.
“I’m supposed to have sworn off sex,” she said, lifting on her toes to nibble his neck, “but I can’t seem to help myself tonight. I want… no. I need to fuck so badly.”
“I know,” Ry told her, bending down and speaking against her lush lips. “Why don’t you come with me so my friend and I can ease your ache.”
Her breath caught. “You have a friend that would… have sex with me too? Is it a ‘he’?”
Ry nodded. Her eyes glazed over and he’d have to be dead to miss the way her body trembled. Yes, she’d be perfect for them for tonight. They would get what they needed, and Slate would see that a threesome could be possible. That they couldn’t just give up, that they had to keep looking for the one female to match with them perfectly. “C’mon,” he told her, pulling her gently off the dance floor. “Let’s go.”
She hesitated for all of half a second before she flung herself into his arms and pressed a kiss to his lips that made him dizzy. He wrapped his arms around her waist and the next thing he knew, her legs were twined around his hips and she pushed herself against his cock while rubbing her barely covered breasts against his chest.
The overheated female kissed and nibbled his neck while Ry navigated his way back to the table. Slate raised his brow at seeing them but otherwise didn’t say a word.
“Slate, I have a surprise for you.”

Author Bio:

Ayla bakes away in the sunny south but dreams of warm fires in a cabin anywhere it might be snowy. Then she could let her muse loose on a writing rampage that would probably result in the loss of limb function! Instead, she sits in front of noisy fans and types in waves while fielding the needs of her family. She loves to hear from readers and you can find her almost anywhere on the web.
